An Ash Flat man is facing multiple charges of rape, a class Y felony, according to a release from the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department.
On June 15, authorities received a report from the Arkansas Crimes Against Children Unit after an incident was reported that 64-year-old Terry Long had sexually assaulted a minor child.
The case was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division where detectives worked tirelessly collecting evidence and information.
“Further investigation would determine Terry Long, 64, Ash Flat had groomed, and raped the child on several occasions over the course of a year,” the release said. “On June 22, 2023, Detectives arrested Terry on charges of rape. He was booked into the Sharp County Detention center. Where he is awaiting a first appearance in Circuit Court..
Bond for Long has been set at $1 million dollars
