It is so important for you to live with purpose. God knitted you in your mother’s womb and breathed His air into your lungs. He created you for a specific purpose to be done to glorify Him. Discovering your purpose is your challenge, but once you discover it, live it out in your daily life.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10

God made sure you have gifts and talents to use. He did not create you to eat, work, eat, sleep and repeat. Watch your actions and listen to your words, they may inform you of your gift or talent.

This past weekend I was speaking at a Men’s event in NW AR. I was sharing about our true worth to God. I had taken the time to write down all my thoughts and bible research before I put it all together in a 22-minute teaching for men. Afterward that night and again the next day, I had several men approach me and commented on the teaching and then asked what church I preach at. I told them I was not a preacher, just a small-town school bus driver. Two of them told me I had the gift of preaching. No one has ever said that to me, ever. The other man said my voice was deep and distinct. I am not sure what that means but it was deep because I was losing it from singing praise songs to God with about 300 men earlier.

Wouldn’t that be cool if God called me to preach at the age of 67! I think that has never happened to anyone, ever! So that can’t be it. I have always had a desire to be a worship leader, but my voice is not a trained one, so that can’t be my gift. I do love to write devotions. Maybe I should write a small devotional book?

We all want our lives to have meaning and purpose with an impact on someone in a positive way for Jesus. God intends for us to do something for His glory. We must discover what that is through prayer or asking your friends or co workers what your gift or talent might be. Love, humility, serving others and integrity will give you a firm foundation for your gift or talent to be used. The You Tuber, Midlife Stockman, is gifted in serving others for Christ while providing a living for his family. I watch him often with my wife as he inspires me to serve others asking for nothing in return.

In closing, live your life with authenticity and transparency. It will be a huge witness to others to see you for who you really are. I am a sinner, who was saved by Jesus and his loving grace, through his forgiveness of my sins. I will live my life as a testimony and be as Christlike in my daily walk as I can possibly be. The biggest part of my witness for Him is my words and my actions.

Live each day as if it is your last day on earth, someday it will be.
