Robert Lewis 61, the man who confessed to killing two Sharp County residents, Quinley Lamb, 43 and Brian Shackelford, 51 as well as DeAnna Tippey, 36, Cherokee County, Okla. in January of this year appeared in court in Cherokee County Okla., March 8.

Represented by his attorney Velia Lopez entered a plea of not guilty before Judge Josh King.

On March 2, a series of documents were filed on Lewis’ behalf including a notice of invocation of all constitutional rights.

In the document, Lewis cited several constitutional amendments and stated his objection to “any interview, questioning, interrogation, conversation or other verbal or written communication or its functional equivalent related to any investigation of any violation or suspected violation of the law and any matters which might reasonably be related to any such violation or suspected violation,” the documents state.

He also asserted the cessation of any search or seizure of his person or property “…including without limitation discovering evidence relating to any investigation, whether performed by law enforcement officers, or at the request of law enforcement by others or by any other person without prior approval of my council or their authorized representative.”

Lewis included a section revoking any and all releases or waivers of any nature he had previously authorized or granted until he could consult with council.

Other documents included a request to remove Lewis from suicide watch where he has remained since his arrest.

Subpoenas were also issued for Sheriff Jason Chennault and Jail Administrator T.J. Girdner to produce documentation regarding the medical care provided to Lewis since his incarceration.

His case has been set for felony disposition on May 4.

On Jan. 28, Lewis was placed under arrest and on Jan. 31, he was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and to be held without bond.

The charges stem after authorities were contacted regarding the discovery of a body on Lewis’ property.

While working to obtain a search warrant, authorities were notified Lewis, wanted to turn himself in. He was located at the Cherokee Nation Casino and taken into custody.

While searching the property, two additional bodies were discovered.

“We interview him, and he admitted to killing three people and burying them on his property. We held the scene all night and came out this morning, and did find two additional people in shallow graves,” Chennault told the Muskogee Pheonix.

Sheriff Chennault said Robert Lewis has confessed to killing Quinley Lamb, 43, and Brian Shackelford, 51, and DeAnna Tippey, 36, Cherokee County, Okla.

“He admitted to killing all three of them and wouldn’t tell us why,” Chennault told the Muskogee Pheonix.

Chennault said it is believed Lamb and Shackelford were killed Jan. 16, and Tippey was killed sometime after Jan. 19.

Evidence suggests Lamb was fatally wounded and sustained a fractured skull, Shackelford was passed after his throat was cut and Tippey was strangled.
