The third annual Hook, Shrine and Sinker Crown Lake Bass Classic Tournament is slated for May 22 at Crown Lake in Horseshoe Bend.
According to Doug Driesel, event organizer, registration is now open.
Entry to the tournament is $100 per boat with big payouts for the top three winners. A two person limit has been established per boat this year.
“First prize is $1,000, second is $500 and third is $250. All of the proceeds raised go to the Shriners to help children in our area,” Driesel said. “We need people to pre-register and come out and have a great time.”
Driesel said the winners will be determined by the five heaviest fish weighed and the heaviest stringer will win.
In years past, Driesel said over $5,000 had been raised and the funds allow the Shriners to help children and families in the area.
“We were able to take that money and help several people from our area. We’re excited this can happen in our community again, Driesel said. “We hope to beat what we’ve raised in years past and anyone who sees the commercials knows what Shriners does, but your local shrine club impacts your local community.”
This year, several sponsors have come together to support the event in order to help the funds raised go further in helping the community.
“Because of Centennial Bank, FNBC, Elite Auto, Boxhound Marina, Triple R Pawn, Triple D Package Store, the Bend Get and Go, Mike Watson State Farm and so many more all of the money we raise will go directly to help families in our area,” Driesel said.
Registration will be open until the day prior to the tournament or until there are no spots left. To register, contact Doug Driesel at 870-257-5967.
