Al Bladez is a Christian father in Florida who is a YouTuber. Al started out with some lawn equipment and just drove around town looking for yards that were neglected. Al would knock on the door and seek permission to mow the lawn for free. He would ask if it was ok to video tape his work to show on his YouTube channel. Many times, it was an elderly widow that came to the door, who was physically unable to do yard work, let alone pay someone to do it. In most cases they say ok. Living alone and having a stranger working around your house for free is suspicious in today’s world.
Al is a blessing from God. He is an instrument in the hands of God. Al allows God to use him to bless others. Over the years he has transformed yards and, in the process, instilled in the hearts and souls of many that there are still good people in our world. He is a seed planter for God. He is the hands and feet of God.
Life is about connecting with someone in moments of simple acts of compassion, and opportunities to uplift one another. In this journey, we are all given the profound privilege to be a blessing to someone. This is not only an act of kindness but a testament to the beauty of Christ in action and His grace that works through us. It is His grace that is flowing through our bodies into someone else’s life. This act energizes us because we are plugged into Christ who has unlimited power and resources to help us.
Being a blessing begins with an open heart. It requires a willingness to see the needs of others, to listen to their stories, and to respond with empathy. Whether it’s a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or simply the gift of your time, the impact of even the smallest act of goodness cannot be overstated. When you allow yourself to give freely, without expectation of reward, you become a vessel through which love, and light can pour into the world.
I want to encourage you to be a blessing to someone. Ask God to put a person in your path who needs help and then allow Him to use you to meet that need. I think you will find out quickly what a wonderful feeling it is to be an instrument in the hands of God.
Blessings don’t need to be grand gestures. In fact, it is often in the smallest moments that carry the greatest weight. A smile at a stranger, lending a helping hand to someone who is struggling, or sending an encouraging message to a friend. Maybe these acts seem insignificant to you, but they plant seeds of hope and joy. By choosing to be mindful of opportunities for kindness in your day, you are letting others see Jesus in your actions.
A simple illustration. Picture in your mind Jesus with a 5-gallon bucket pouring blessings from above into a conduit, which is you, and having those blessing flow into others by your actions and words. We truly are the hands and feet of Jesus. We are walking, talking bibles for Christ.
In closing, let us all strive to be conduits of grace, love, and compassion, allowing ourselves to be used for the betterment of others. In this way, we help to create a world where blessings overflow and where kindness is at the top of our “to do list” every day.
