The first-ever Here and Now Wellness Festival will be held Sept. 13 from 12 noon until 5 p.m. at Lake Vagabond Beach in Ozark Acres.
According to Kate Fabian, organizer of the festival, there will be several activities throughout the day, including a kids’ zone, presentations on organic gardening and AlphaGal.
“It is incorporating talents from around the local area and seeks to include the community, educating people about wellness topics. We wanted to highlight the AlphaGal phenomenon occurring in this area and across the globe. This festival began with the goal of increasing awareness and possible ways people can mitigate their symptoms,” Fabian said.
In addition to demonstrations and presentations, the event will also feature music.
“We’re excited to have Mike Oregano. He is a local musician in the area. He puts the ‘I’m a one-man band’ experience on a new level. We’re going to have the Spring River Collective, Felicia Goodman will be with us,” Fabian said. “Many know Felicia, she is a holistic practitioner and used to work out of Goodman’s Back to Eden, but that location has closed, but she still has access to amazing herbal products, tinctures and more.”
Sound baths, paleolithic art, and natural medicine, massage, and more will also be offered.
“A lot of these practitioners have been in their field for over 40 years, some are newer to the area, and it’s great to be able to bring these people together,” Fabian said. “We’re going to be highlighting everything from jewelry to botanicals. We’re also going to have cake, games, art, and all kinds of fun activities to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and we invite kids to come and enjoy that.”
