Two Hardy residents were recognized after the winners of the 2022 Arkansas State Old-Time Banjo Championship at the Ozark Folk Center State Park were announced Aug. 7.
The championship was held Aug. 6 in Mountain View and welcomed competitors from across the Ozarks.
Hardy residents Jeff and Debbie Kamps both walked away winners with Jeff placing second in the Senior Division and Debbie placing third. First place was held by Duane Porterfield of Mountain View.
The event featured two state championship contests with the banjo state championships in the morning and fiddlers in the afternoon.
The winners of the fiddle contest have not yet been announced.
