There will be times in our life when things are going along pretty good and suddenly our world is turned upside down. I had just started as a school bus driver in Highland on August 15th. Things were going well. We had found a wonderful church and we were plugging in and starting to serve. Suddenly I got the call from my daughter in law that our 38-year-old son had committed suicide. Our world was turned upside down. We did not at anytime blame God. We immediately started to lean heavily on God. As I walked to my garage to get the luggage I stopped and looked up to heaven and said, “God, I am really going to need you to help me make it through this.”

Job went through more than just about anyone could ever go through. The devil had his way with him, and it took its toll on Job. He complained and his friends tried unsuccessfully to help him. Then in Chapter 38 God steps in. He asks Job a lot of questions. Making his point, “I’ve got this.” God did not tell Job the reason for his suffering, but he did remind him it was He who created the universe.

God’s ways are much bigger and more magnificent that we could ever imagine. Have you been dealing with pain and suffering? Are you questioning like Job why God is allowing this to happen? Don’t waste time like Job did, talking to your friends trying to figure out the reason for the suffering. Simply wait on God. Be still and know that He is God. He is the one who gave the orders for the morning (Job 38:12). He will speak to you in the midst of the storm, just like He spoke to the disciples when they thought they were about to drown from the waves. He showed up in the middle of the crisis.

God will be there for you too when your world is turned upside down. Patiently wait for Him. Pray and talk to Him so He can help you.
