The Cave City Christmas Feast and Coat Drive is set for Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Cave City Middle School is quickly approaching.

According to Pat Anderson, one of the organizers for the event, monetary donations and donations of coats are being sought to help make the event a success.

“We want to thank everyone who has donated so far. It is greatly appreciated. We need coats. If you would like to donate a coat, please feel free to message me. I can pick them up or you can drop them off at my house. This would be a great mission point for any chruch or organization that would ike to contribute,” Anderson said. “Any monetary donations can be placed in the fund set up at the Bank of Cave City under the Christmas Feast and Coat Drive account.”

This year’s menu will be chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, roll and desert and all meals will be prepared to go.

“This is our fourth year and we’ve partnered with the Cave City Kiwanis to make it a bigger and better event,” Anderson said.

Since it’s inception, over 1,000 meals have been given out.
Area pastors are encouraged to prepare a list of shut ins and to bring the list with them to the event.

“Get a list of your shut ins and bring it with you. We will make plates you can take to them and help spread some cheer,” Anderson said. “This has been another tough year for so many, so we encourage anyone who would like one to come and get a to-go meal and then go and enjoy the Christmas parade.”

Anderson noted the event is not just for the Cave City community, but for anyone who would ike a meal.

“If you have anyone that you know in need of a good hot meal that can’t get out and drive, please contact us and we will deliver. This is a free meal and it is to give people hope and show that there are people who truly care during these difficult times,” Anderson said.
