Five school districts turn to virtual learning for Feb. 18-19

Schools scheduling virtual days Feb. 18 and Feb. 19, 2021

Cave City Schools

 Due to inclement weather, school will be closed Thursday and Friday (Feb. 18 and Feb. 19) for in person learning. Students are expected to log into Google Classroom and complete their assignments.

At this time, we plan on having school Monday. Buses will run.

Highland Schools

The Highland School District will be closed tomorrow (Feb. 18) and Friday (Feb. 19) to on-site learning due to inclement weather. Both days will be virtual learning days


Izard County Schools

Due to inclement weather, ICC will have virtual learn days the remainder of this week. We will be closed to on-site learning on Thursday and Friday, February 18-19, 2021. Students need to check Google Classroom for assignments.Link:

Mammoth Spring Schools

Due to continued hazardous road conditions, the Mammoth Spring School District will be closed Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19. These will both be virtual learning days.


[Editor’s Note:  Remember that even though the Mammoth Spring High School blood drive was cancelled, Thayer will be having a blood drive on Feb. 23 and blood donated there in the name of MSHS will count toward Mammoth Spring High School’s scholarship.]  Mammoth Spring will have another blood drive in May.

Salem Schools

Salem Schools will be closed for on-site instruction Thursday and Friday, February 18th and 19th.  These will be virtual learning days.

Remember, students who do not have internet and cannot safely go somewhere to download assignments will have time to make up assignments when we return.
