The Arkansas Forestry Service has increased the wildfire danger for all of North Central Arkansas. Sharp, Fulton and Izard Counties have been upgraded to a moderate wildfire danger and although a burn ban has not yet been issued, nearly two-thirds of the state remains under a burn ban.
According to National Weather Service Forecaster Colby Pope, no rainfall is expected anytime soon.
“Temperatures will be some of the coldest we have seen so far this fall. There are frost advisories for wednesday and thrusday morning, but as of right now, there is no rain in seven day forecast,” Pope said.
It has been 17 days since the tri-county area has seen any measurable rain.
