What began as a minor traffic accident led to a slew of charges for a woman in Fulton County.

According to the affidavit, on Sept. 30, Arkansas State Police Corporal Jason Hooks was contacted by Mammoth Spring Police chief Jamie Turnbough regarding a female identified as 27-year-old Tapanga Hahn.

Turnbough told Hooks to believe Hahn to be under the influence of narcotics and requested Hooks perform a field sobriety test.

When Hooks arrived, Hahn was sweating profusely and appeared to be nervous.

After completing three standardized field sobriety tests and a modified Romberg test, Hahn was placed under arrest for DWI drugs.

Turnbough spoke with the owner of the vehicle who stated Hahn did not have permission to use the vehicle she had just wrecked.

While Hooks spoke with Turnbough, Hooks noticed Hahn was moving around anxiously in the backseat. When Hooks opened the door to check on Hahn, several coins and a piece of plastic baggie that had been torn off fell to the ground.

When asked where the remainder of the plastic baggie was, Hahn denied any knowledge.

Hooks transported Hahn to the Fulton County Detention Center and after escorting her to the booking area returned to his patrol unit where he found a small plastic baggie containing a white crystalline substance stuffed into the seat of the vehicle. The torn piece of plastic matched the baggie which was missing a piece of plastic.

As a result, Hahn was charged with possession of a controlled substance, meth, a class C felony; tampering with physical evidence, a class D felony; refusal to submit to chemical test, and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a chemical test, driving on a suspended license, failure to provide insurance, no seatbelt and careless and prohibited driving. Bond for Hahn was set at $10,000.
