The Ozark Acres Day of Prayer will be held April 22 beginning at 8 a.m. in conjunction with the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Campaign and Earth Day Acres Clean-Up.
“Many residents have expressed a desire to see more beautification efforts in Ozark Acres. We’ve been sent resources by Keep Arkansas Beautiful and for Earth Day and this event is a good way for children to learn about volunteerism and for the community to come together and accomplish goals that benefit them where they live, Lang said. “There will be activities for the children at the clubhouse from 8 a.m until 10:30 a.m.”
The event will kick off at 8 a.m. with the cleanup. Volunteers are needed and will be provided with supplies for the cleanup.
The cleanup will take place from 8 until 10:30 a.m, followed by the prayer event and a lunch at 11 a.m. and raffle at 12 noon.
“As a community, we have been through some tough times recently. My hope is to take our focus off the issues for a brief period of time set politics aside and get back to humanity. Learn a little about one another and to come together for multiple purposes, seek God and ultimately get some direction,” Siebert said. “Volunteerism puts the focus on the community as a whole and prayer puts the focus on God. I feel this is a solid combination and potentially, a step in the right direction.”
In celebration of Earth Day, there will be activities for kids.
“For the cleanup, we have trash bags, vests and more , and there will be the Trashy Awards following the cleanup,” Lang said.
Siebert noted a raffle will also be held with a variety of items for residents to choose from.
“Several area businesses have donated items for us to raffle to raise money for the lakes and parks. Krisellen had a really cool idea to where when you buy tickets, it’s not restricted for one item. You will take your tickets, fill them out and then drop them in the various jars for the items you’re interested in having a chance at,” Siebert said.
Lang noted items being raffled include Branson Show Tickets, a gift basket from All Tied Up Gifts and More, option of a dozen cupcakes or dipped strawberries from Pammy Cakes by Pamela Rowland, option of a kid goat or Lamb from Peaceful River Farms and more.
“We would like to thank our sponsors for supporting to this event. Evolve Bank has donated cases of water so our volunteers will have something to drink, the donors for raffle items have made it possible to raise funds for vital projects and all of it will be poured back into this community, Lang said.
