Early voting begins today for the Republican primary run-off elections which will be decided after the polls close June 21. 

In Sharp County you may vote early between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. June 14 through 17 or Monday, June 20. The courthouse will be closed June 20, but the clerk’s office will be open for voting. No offsite early voting locations will be available. Election Day, June 21 polls will be open from 7:30 a.m until 7:30 p.m. 

There are two run-off elections. One for State Senate between Rep. John Payton and Sen. James Sturch and a second for State Representative District 2 between Rep. Marsh Davis and Trey Steimel. Both races will determine which Republican candidate will run for their respective seats in the General Election in November.


In Fulton County there are three run-offs. One for State Senate Representative for District 22 between Republicans Rep. John Payton and Sen. James Sturch. A second run-off between Trey Steimel and Rep. Marsh Davis for State Representative District 2. A third run-off race will take place for the Viola School Board Position 2 between Dustin Cotter and Derek Winter.

Early voting will take place June 14 through 17 or June 20 from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. Election Day is June 21 and polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. All six voting centers in Fulton County will be open on Election Day. 

In Izard County, there are four run-off races. One for State House of Representatives for District 27 between Steven Walker and Timmy Reed. Another between Rep. John Payton and Sen. James Sturch for District 22. Both races will determine who will be the Republican representatives for their respective seats in the November General Election. Other run-off races are for County Judge between Paul Womack and Judge Eric Smith and another for Justice of the Peace District 2 between Kelly Hatman and Boby Russell.

In Izard County, early voting will be open the June 14 through 17 at Ozarka College and on the 20 and 21. Hours will be from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Ozarka College, Brand New Church and Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church the 14 through 17, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on June 20 and 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.Election Day.
