The Mammoth Spring School District has provided an update regarding the potential threat to student safety.

According to the district’s social media account, ultimately the threat was found wanting.

The “District learned yesterday evening from a parent that their student had overheard what they thought was a threat against the high school,” the post read. “The District immediately took action to investigate the threat and to inform law enforcement so that they could take appropriate steps to assure the safety of our students and staff, which is the District’s top priority. The District investigation and the cooperating local authorities have found that the threat was baseless.”

For confidentiality and privacy purposes under law, no further comments were offered.

“District cannot comment further at this time but will provide any appropriate updates if additional information becomes available,” the post states.
