Joe Grider, who was serving as the attorney for the City of Hardy submitted a letter of resignation to Hardy Mayor Ethan Barnes and the City of Hardy effective July 18.
In his letter submitted June 17, Grider said he appreciated the opportunity to serve the City and to work with Barnes and the Council.
“As I transition to the next chapter of my career, I am comitted to ensuring a smooth handover of my duties. Please let me know how I can assit in this process during my remaining time,” Grider wrote. “Thank you once again for the chance tobe part of the City of Hardy. I wish you and the City continued success in the future.”
Barnes said the city is actively seeking a replacement.
“The City of Hardy will seek to fill the vacancy of the City Attorney position after the resignation of Mr. Joe Grider. The City of Hardy sincerely thanks Mr. Joe Grider for his legal services to the City. The City will seek an Arkansas licensed attorney to fill the remainder of the term for 2025,” Barnes said. “If anyone that is qualified is interested in filling this vacancy, please contact the City of Hardy Mayor to submit a bid for legal services by August 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. or mail your bid to City of Hardy at P.O. Box 5 in Hardy.”
