The City of Cherokee Village is one step closer to providing better housing for animals at their animal control facility.

On Dec. 3, Councilman Steve Thompson who also serves as chairman of the Cherokee Village Animal Control Advisory Committee was presented with a check for $5,000 by Renee Clay-Circle and Amy Clay-Thomas.

Thompson is overseeing the project of the construction of a new heated and cooled 22 bay dog kennel.

Earlier this year, animal control opened the doors to a new and improved cat housing.
