Cherokee Village will celebrate its 70th anniversary June 20 – 21 and the community is invited to join in the celebration.
Cherokee Village was established in 1954 and officially launched at a ceremony held in Cherokee Village June of 1955.
On Saturday, June 21, we are expanding the Spring River Farmer’s Market to include additional vendors and we’re also inviting local organizations, churches and civic groups who serve the Cherokee Village community to join us with a booth promoting your organization,” a representative of the 70th celebration steering committee said.
There is no charge for a booth however; organizations must per-register to get an assigned booth space and organizations will need to provide their own tables, chairs and tent if they so choose.
“Local civic groups, non-profit organizations and churches have always been a cornerstone of the Cherokee Village community since its founding and we hope you can join us as we mark this special celebration,” the representative said.
Festivities will begin Friday, June 20 with an outdoor movie at 8:30 p.m., at the Town Center in Cherokee Village.
On Saturday June 21, the Spring River Farmers Market will have expanded hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a kid’s zone, food vendors, live music civic organization booths and more. The event is free to attend.
