A warrant has been issued for a man in Sharp County charged with rape, a class Y felony.
Although the affidavit in the case against 34-year-old Franklin Wilson Carothers is sealed, other available documents state the charges stem from an incident on or about Feb. 6.
Carothers is charged with rape- forcible compulsion a class Y felony against a victim less than 14 years old and as a habitual offender.
Carouthers has previously plead guilty to several crimes including multiple counts of residential burglary, breaking or entering, theft of property, several counts of theft by receiving, and possession of drugs.
Bond for the rape charges has not yet been set.
