I love being able to talk directly to God at any time or any place because of what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary. No more curtains and no more Priest to go through.

When I first accepted Christ as my Savior it was scary to pray. I did not know what to say or how to say it. I was addressing the Creator of the Universe and paused a lot. The older I get the easier it is to talk to God. He wants me to come to Him in humility and weakness recognizing my need for His help. He wants me to first acknowledge Him for who He is, my Heavenly Father.

It is very important to God that we don’t think of Him as an ATM that dispenses wishes and cash. It is extremely important to thank God for His blessings and answered prayers first and foremost. Blessing us in many different forms, because of our obedience to His Word and commands, are always at the ready.

Think about it, if your friends always call you and immediately ask you to help them or do things for them, but never thank you, how would that make you feel? Used, unappreciated, and unloved I would think. God deserves our thanks every day.

When you pray keep it simple. God is not concerned about large eloquent wordy prayers that go on for 5-10 minutes. I think He really loves breath prayers, “thank you Jesus”, “help me Jesus”, “I need you Jesus”. We can do these all day long to stay in contact with our greatest helper and lover of our soul.

Do you allow some quiet time after you pray for God to talk with you? Yes, even God would love to have a two-way conversation with you. Will it be audible? If He chooses, but most likely it will be His Holy Spirit speaking directly to your heart and soul. Be still and listen. God is always looking at our hearts. It is always a heart issue that is important to Him. Are you praying with faith that God will answer your prayer or doubt that He won’t?

The cool thing is God knows what you are saying before you say it. He knows your thoughts. If you say the wrong name or don’t know the person’s last name, you can be sure He knows who you are praying for.

So, start praying more often. God is always ready to listen and really looks forward to hearing from His children as often as they will call upon His name.

Now, let me give you an assignment. You just found out you can send a text directly to God from your phone to God’s new Apple watch. What will your first text to God say? Speak from your heart and soul as you type it out.  Go ahead and I hope you cry some as you thank Him and tell Him what He means to you. He will more than likely cry too, because of His love and adoration for you.
