The Arkansas Yarn Crawl is an annual event billed as “A Tour of Arkansas’s great yarn shops.” It is also a tour of the state as the shops are spread over every region. The organizers “invite you to come make memories with us as you travel through the charming yarn stores of Arkansas, the Natural State. Visit as many participating yarn stores as possible.” Its an opportunity to dive into discussion and discovery of the beauty and diversity of fibers with fellow yarn enthusiasts and fiber artists. Prizes are given to some of the lucky participants in a drawing at the end of the week. Photos on the Arkansas Yarn Crawl page show bushels of beautiful yarns and some folks visiting unique shops.

This year, two yarn shops close to the tri-county area are participating. Immediately local is Laura Ruetten Smith’s Artasia in Hardy, Ark. The other shop, Unraveled Yarn Boutique, is in Paragould. Mark your calendar as the fun runs from July 15th till July 23rd, 2022.

“I’m so pleased to announce that we’ve been invited to participate in the Arkansas Yarn Crawl this July!” wrote Laura Ruetten Smith, owner of Artasia, “We’re busily making preparations for this event and looking forward to meeting yarn and fiber enthusiasts. Check it out!” For more information, visit with Laura at Artasia, 112 E. Main Street, Hardy, Ark. 72542, or check the Artasia page for updates.
