The Arts Center of North Arkansas (ACNA) is pleased to announce the Art from the Heart Competition and Exhibition (AHCE).
Submissions will be accepted in March, there will be an awards reception, cash prizes and more.
A cash prize of $200 will be awarded to the popular vote, $200 gallery award and $100 curators award
The AHCE is an open call to artists who are 18-years-old or older to express their unique inner vision and personality through a two dimensional painting, drawing or collage in any style or media on any subject matter.
There are multiple artwork categories including: paintings, drawings, collage and mixed media. Computer-generated art, prints and photography are not eligible for this competition.
The entry fee is $20 for the first work of art, and $5 for each additional piece.
Submissions must be dropped off at the ACNA office located in the central level of Town Center in Cherokee Village near the gazebo on March 1 or March 6 through March 8 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., Art will be returned to artists after April 5 and may be picked up April 24 through April 26 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., or by special arrangement with the gallery.
All artworks must be gallery wrapped or glass-framed and ready to be hung on screws and wire. No saw-tooth hangers will be accepted; no larger than 48 by 48 or four inches deep; weigh less than 50 pounds and be an original concept, design and execution.
Winning submissions will be chosen based on creativity, originality, craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal. Theme interpretation and artist’s written description will be considered.
