If you’ve ever dreamed of holding a state title, and baking is your thing, get ready because the Arkansas Pie Festival, slated for April 27 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Town Center in Cherokee Village is quickly approaching.
Applications for commercial, home chef and youth bakers are being accepted.
There will be judging for the best overall pie, division winners, honorable mention and more.
For commercial bakers, bakers must be an owner or operator or an authorized representative of a restaurant, cafe, bakery, pie shop or business that sells pies on a professional basis to the public.
Non Commercial Bakers “Home Chef Category” applicants must be 18 or older and a person who bakes for enjoyment and not for commercial resale purposes.
Youth Bakers entry applications are also being accepted for students under the age of 18 who bake for enjoyment and not for commercial resale purposes.
Tickets are also on sale now at arkansaspiefestival.com the cost is $10 in advance or $12 at the door, children ages five to 12 are $5 and children five and under are free.
The event will open to volunteers and bakers from 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. the day of the event and registration for the Pie Day 5k Race begins at 8:30 a.m., the race at 9.
The festival opens to the public beginning at 10 a.m. with pie tasting, pie shops and silent actions, live music, food trucks and a kids zone.
Musical entertainment on the Center Stage starts at 10 a.m. with Erin Walters, followed by the Duncans at 11:15 a.m., Craig Estes at 12:30 p.m. and Jon Jones at 1:45 p.m.
Pie judging begins at 11 a.m. as does photos with Miss Arkansas.
One popular event for both spectators and participants is Arkansas Pie Festival Pie Eating Contest which will kick off at 12:30 p.m.
A Cutie Pie Pet Parade will take place at 1:30followed by the end of the pie auction at the pie shop at 2:30.
Awards will be presented at 2:45 and the festival will close at 3 p.m.
