World War II Veteran William Strauss will soon be celebrating his 102nd birthday and members of the Salem VFW Post 9777 are asking for the community’s help to make his big day all the more special.
“His birthday is October 27 and he will be turning 102,” said VFW Post member Cynthia Clow-Elliot. “He is a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, and we are trying to recruit anyone we can to drop a card or letter in the mail to him.”
Strauss is an active member of his community.
