A shooting at a business in Jordan was reported to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 15.
According to a release from the Baxter County Sheriff, the incident occurred at approximately 1:27 p.m. and authorities were dispatched to 8231 Hwy 177 South in response to the call.
When authorities arrived at Woods Feed and Farm Supply, they found a man who had been shot, waiting outside the business.
“…Emergency medical care was provided. The shooter was also contacted, and an investigation ensued. The shooter and the victim are related. There is a no contact order in place against the victim due to prior incidents that prohibits the victim from being on the premises,” the release said.
The victim, a 42-year-old male was air lifted to a hospital in Springfield, MO. The shooter was then taken to the Sherriff’s Office to be interviewed.
“He claimed he was defending himself in the altercation and refused to answer questions,” the release said. “A search warrant was later executed at the business location to gather evidence and the firearm was seized.”
No arrest has been made at this time and the matter remains under investigation. More information will be released at a later time.
