The first Homesteader Day was held in Hardy in 1990 and for the next three decades grew to be a staple event in Arkansas.
The event was used as an opportunity to demonstrate and teach how tasks were accomplished during the pioneering days.
In years past, demonstrations ranged from soap and candle making to primitive cooking and corn grinding.
